Word of the Year 2026

My word of the year has been reluctant to make an appearance. I kept trying to force it, thinking about it a little too much.

It wasn’t until I stepped away, to give myself (and my brain) room to breathe that it decided to show up:

CREATE
….Space
.…Content
….Connections
.…Opportunities

Creating space to think. Space to breathe. Space where ideas actually have room to form.

Creating content more consistently. I’ve had success lately, even though showing up still feels like work. I’m a creative writer; how can I bring that mindset to my business writing, too?

Creating connections. My superpower, it is the easiest and most natural fuel for me. I love people. I love building relationships and watching them deepen over time. I want more of that.

Where this all culminates is in creating opportunities. New experiences. New ways of thinking. New conversations—personally and professionally—that don’t exist unless we create the space for them first.

2026 is about creating the conditions that make the right things possible.

And trusting that what comes from that space is worth sharing.
