La Mesa Street Retail

I love good street retail—especially when it’s eclectic, walkable, and serves up great shopping, food, and a sense of community.

As a native Californian, I was surprised I hadn’t made it to La Mesa until a few years ago. The first visit quickly won me over with cool shops, good food, relaxed bars, and an unassuming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile.

Shoutout to the La Mesa Village Association for bringing energy to the district with events like the farmers market and classic car show—smart, community-first programming that works.

When I’m in town, I usually start with a drink at Regal Bar before wandering the district.
