Remarkable Women

I come from a big family, most of us are women.

We are loud and communicative, which is needed in a big family if you want your voice heard.

I’m also the proud Aunt (and Great Aunt) of 15 (and counting) amazing young women.

Over the years, when prompted by nieces about what I do, I tell them, “What I do isn’t rocket science; many people can do it. I do it well because I can build and grow lasting relationships, and if you can learn the same, it will set you apart in whatever career you choose.”

Unsurprisingly, I’m drawn to strong women and have been fortunate in my career to have both incredible mentors, and the ability to mentor. People who know me know that I’m an advocate, determined to prop up others, add an encouraging voice, and spread the word about incredible people.

In that vein, I plan to feature some of my favorite women doing great work, in a new post series called Remarkable Women.

Here’s a photo of me with my sisters and my brother, Matthew Monnig —who, growing up with four sisters, naturally developed essential business skills like negotiation, teamwork, and conflict resolution. Let’s just say he got a lot of practice. 😆
